Council Bluff Recreation Area

Just below the headwaters of the Big River, Council Bluff Lake occupies over 400 acres and offers a sand beach for swimmers, boating and fishing for bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. Wild Boar Campground has sites for groups and individual campers. There are several trails including one that winds along the shoreline and links the camp with the Chapel hill Beach and Picnic Area. Near the entrance to the Recreation Area, the Trace Creek Section of the Ozark Trail is accessible.
